Ashton has 12 years of experience educating people about sustainable housing and off-grid systems. Her interest in off-grid systems and alternative architecture began when she moved to the Greater World Earthship Community in Taos, NM. During her time there, she purchased an Earthship and managed the Earthship Biotecture Education Facility. Ashton has consulted hundreds of people on off-grid building projects, and appeared in many TV shows and documentaries. Being able to apply non-traditional thinking to non-traditional building & living systems has become her life’s work. Ashton’s goal is to guide anyone looking to live a sustainable, off-grid lifestyle through the crazy maze of choices and systems so that they can arrive at solutions that will work best for their location, climate, comfort level, and budget.
