Kirsten Jacobsen has 25 years of experience educating people about sustainable housing and off-grid systems.

In 1998 she began construction on her own Earthship. This house is now a nightly rental on Airbnb and has been featured in Forbes, Smithsonian, and Airbnb Magazine.

In 2011 she co-founded the Earthship Academy, an international sustainable construction school where she developed both hands-on and classroom curriculum centered around autonomous building techniques and systems. She obtained college accreditation for the program.

Over 2,000 students from 80 different countries have attended the Earthship Academy in Taos and sessions globally. Many have gone on to build autonomous projects and educate others in their own communities.
